    Stage 1:

    Better Sleep Starts Here

    Stage 2:

    Grow To Love Sleep

  • Stage 1: Swaddling

Certified by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute, our patented SWADDLE UP™ is a breakthrough swaddling solution to help your new baby settle quickly and establish a peaceful sleep routine.

    Sleep starts here

Unlike traditional swaddles that keep a babies arms bound by their side or across their chest, the unique, patented, award winning ARMS UP™ design of our SWADDLE UP™ is designed to allow a familiar feeling to your baby of being in the womb. SWADDLE UP™ allows a natural arms up position & movement of your babies hands to the mouth for true self-soothing. Self-soothing = more sleep for your baby (and you).

Tip: SWADDLE UP™ is available in a range of sizes, colours and TOG weights. Always choose your SWADDLE UP™ size according to baby's weight, not their age.

  • 'These swaddles are great! I recommend them to everyone having a baby. They are a MUST HAVE item! My little man would just burst out of wraps so we had to use a swaddle. I tried another brand but he didn't seem to sleep so well. The Swaddle UP helped him to settle himself as he could still get to his hands.'

    Sarah, Sydney

  • Stage 2: Transitional

Can be used to transition from any type of swaddle. The easiest & gentlest way to help your baby graduate from swaddling while maintaining the snug secure feeling of being swaddled.

    Grow to love sleep

As soon as your baby shows signs of trying to roll, you must stop swaddling. Certified by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute, both our SWADDLE UP™ TRANSITION BAG and TRANSITION SUIT are the simplest sleep solutions to help transition your baby safely from being swaddled to arms free sleeping – all while maintaining their cherished sleep routine.

Highly functional and simple to use, it’s what we call Everyday Everyday Genius™.

Tip: SWADDLE UP™ TRANSITION BAG is available in a range of sizes, colours and TOG weights. Always choose your size according to baby's weight, not their age.

  • 'This product was amazing for helping our 7 month old out of his wrap into a sleeping bag. He got used to sleeping arms up, then one out, then both, all within two weeks. Every time someone asks how to transition their child I ALWAYS recommend the Transition Bag.'

    Laura, Melbourne

  • ' The Love To Dream Sleep Suit has been a game changer for us. Our little boy used to wake up cold every night after kicking off his blankets. Now he stays cosy all night long and sleeps for much longer because he is comfortable. If he is sleeping then we're sleeping! I also love the built in legs because when he moves around his bed he does not get tangled up and when he walks, he doesn't trip over. Amazing product and quality.'

    Melanie, California

  • Your Baby's Natural Sleep Position

From the womb to SWADDLE UPTM

    Approximately 24 Weeks

Medical Research suggests that babies sleep better if they can self-soothe. Babies often settle themselves to sleep by sucking on their hands or by gently rubbing their cheeks.

This is a natural act known as SELF-SOOTHING™.

SELF-SOOTHING™ helps your baby to sleep longer.

SWADDLE UPTM allows a natural sleep position

We know that many babies like to sleep with their arms up in a natural position. They are often in this position in the womb so it is familiar to them.

SWADDLE UPTM allows a truly natural sleep position and it allows the baby access to their hands when they want them, while providing the safe and secure feeling of gently being swaddled.

SWADDLE UPTM is the original & only zip up swaddle available with patented 'wing tips' that allows your baby to sleep in a natural sleep position with their arms UP.

This gives your baby access to their hands for true SELF-SOOTHING™.

Self-soothing = more sleep for your baby which means more sleep for you too!

  • SWADDLE UPTM vs. Traditional Wrapping

    1. Natural arms up position for hands to mouth for true self-soothing
    2. Swaddle in 13 seconds. Simple to use - no learning curve
    3. Certified by the International Hip-Dysplasia Institute allowing healthy hip development
    4. Stays on all night long
    5. Single layer of fabric to help prevent overheating
    6. Specially woven 360 degree stretch fabric - super comfortable
    7. Twin zipper for easy nappy/diaper changes with minimal disturbance

    Traditional Wrapping

    1. Arms bound by side or across chest so baby cannot touch their hands to face or mouth
    2. Takes a while to swaddle the baby and can be hard to master
    3. Blanket can compress legs and hips which risks bad hip development
    4. Blanket can come undone and pose a risk to baby's safety
    5. Multiple layers of fabric once wrapped up - baby may overheat
    6. Fabric can be stiff and offer little stretch
    7. Have to unwrap baby to change nappy/diaper which often wakes up baby

Join millions of parents around the world who have discovered the amazing SWADDLE UPTM

  • Our Story

From Australia to Canada with love

Proudly Australian, LOVE TO DREAM™ was born in Sydney in 2008 after my husband and I experienced 18 months of severe sleep deprivation with our newborn son. Sleep deprivation and struggling with the concept of wrapping our son in a traditional blanket is what drove me to come up with a simpler way for all parents to safely swaddle babies in their natural sleep position. The idea has been revolutionary and we have restored sanity in the home of millions of families by helping their babies achieve more sleep.

Today, we are the number one selling swaddle & most awarded company within the Australian infant sleep category & are available in more than 45 countries across the world. To date we have won more than 45 Industry and consumer awards for our range of products.

LOVE TO DREAM™ is more than a unique, new age swaddle or sleep bag. Our quality products help to teach your baby to achieve longer, better & more consistent sleep from an early stage in their life. 'SAFER SLEEP MADE SIMPLETM for new parents, babies and toddlers, is what we're all about.

Through genuine Australian innovation, we have created a safer & simpler sleep system that enables babies (& parents) to enjoy longer & better quality sleep, restoring balance in the family home. It’s what we call ‘everyday genius’.

LOVE TO DREAM™ products have truly redefined the nursery/baby sleep category & the way in which parents put their babies to sleep in Australia & around the world.

In 2017 we had the amazing honour of being a winner of two prestigious Australian Business awards:

    • Winner of the 2017 Westpac Businesses of Tomorrow Award: Recognising 20 influential businesses in Australia that will shape Australia's future
    • Winner of the 2017 Telstra Business Awards, Australian Small Business of the Year: Australia's longest running and most prestigious business awards.
These awards have only been possible thanks to the incredible way that mums and dads around the world have embraced our brand and the genuine infant sleep solutions we have created.

Join us for more sleep & thank you for Sharing The Love™

    Hana xx

  • Frequently Asked Questions

    What is a TOG rating?

TOG stands for 'Thermal Overall Grade', which is a unit of measurement used to calculate the thermal insulation of a product, usually in the textile industry.

Our sleep garments are given a TOG rating according to the warmth they provide. Basically, the higher the TOG, the warmer the product.

To help parents understand which TOG values are right for differing room temperatures, a set of guidelines has been established as per below:

0.2 TOG - ideal for room temperatures between 24°C and 27°C
1.0 TOG - ideal for room temperatures between 20°C and 24°C
2.5 TOG - ideal for room temperatures between 16°C and 20°C
3.5 TOG - ideal for room temperatures below 16°C

The table below provides you with the guidelines around how to dress your baby based on the room temperatures.

    Swaddled Babies Sleep Better

“Studies show that swaddling actually does help babies sleep better & longer. The study, ‘Influence of Swaddling on Sleep & Arousal Characteristics of Healthy Infants’ evaluated whether or not swaddling influences infants’ arousal to noise. The results showed swaddling increased infants’ sleep efficiency, non-rapid eye movement (NREM) sleep & swaddled infants spontaneously awakened less often from sleep. The researchers assert that since swaddling helps excessive crying, it may encourage parents who normally place their babies on their stomachs to prevent crying, to instead swaddle their babies & place them on their backs. Back sleeping may also prevent Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).”

    Swaddled Babies Soothe Better

When compared with massage, excessively crying infants cried less when swaddled & swaddling can soothe pain in infants.”

    Breathability of SWADDLE UP™

SWADDLE UP™ is made of ONE layer of the highest quality Cotton Elastane. SWADDLE UP™ is much more breathable than many other sleepwear items available in the marketplace which use multiple layering. The fabric is 93% cotton. Cotton allows moisture to pass through the fibres effectively. Furthermore, since SWADDLE UP™ stretches to fit your baby, the stretching action creates natural openings in the fabric, promoting even further breathability.

When compared with massage, excessively crying infants cried less when swaddled & swaddling can soothe pain in infants.”

It is more difficult for swaddled infants to flip onto their tummies during sleep

“The physical restraint of swaddling presumably prevents infants from turning prone during sleep before they have gained experience in turning to prone & back again when awake.”

SOURCE: “Swaddling: A systematic Review” Paediatrics Volume 120 Number 4, Oct, 2007.

When your baby’s arms are UP in the SWADDLE UP™ it may be more difficult for them to accidentally flip from their back onto their tummy because their arms are in the way. Therefore, from a sleeping supine position (on their back) it may be safer to wrap your baby with their ARMS UP™. Furthermore, if somehow an older baby does turn onto their tummy, they may be better enabled to push UP on their arms & move their head to either side so they can breathe more easily. We cannot guarantee that your baby will not flip onto their tummy, so if your baby has started rolling please discontinue use of any swaddling item.

Self-Soothing helps to calm a baby

“The importance of sucking for infant self-soothing has been demonstrated in a variety of studies. For example, pacifier use or thumb sucking is often offered as a way for babies to tolerate the pain of needle punctures or other painful medical procedures. Non-nutritive sucking has been found to help the development of preterm babies, & in all babies, thumb or pacifier sucking is associated with self-calming. Thumb sucking may increase when your baby is tired or unhappy, as well as when she is unwell or teething. The thumb, therefore, provides your baby with a way of calming herself down- providing her with important experience in managing her emotions.”

SOURCE: Anita sethi, Ph.D. “Baby steps: Thumbs Up 2010

SWADDLE UP™ has been designed with this primitive sucking need in mind. With ARMS UP™ the baby has access to their thumb & fingers whenever they require self-soothing.

Self-Soothing Promotes Better Quality & Longer Sleep in Babies

“Thumb & finger-sucking babies tend to sleep longer & more soundly than non-sucking infants, apparently because sucking eases the transition from wakefulness to sleep.”

SOURCE: West Valley Paediatric Dentistry, serving the western region ot Phoenix, Arizona 2008.

Medical Community suggests babies should be Swaddled with their ARMS UP™

“A new baby’s natural position is with her arms bent at the elbow & her legs flexed. Wrap her like this, making no attempt to straighten her out before you start. Above all, leave her hands where she can suck them if she wants & is able to do so.”

Health Benefits of Swaddling in Premature Babies

“Preterm infants have shown improved neuromuscular development, less physiological distress, better motor organisation, & more self-regulatory ability when they are swaddled.”
